FAQ

Where can I buy halloumi cheese?

Halloumi cheese is not your typical cheese as it is typically imported from Cyprus, making it less common in the U.S. However, it is truly worth the higher price point. You can find this squeaky cheese at many grocery store chains like Whole Foods, Sprouts, Trader Joe’s, and Aldi.

Can you eat halloumi raw?

Yes, you can eat halloumi raw! However, it’s usually best when cooked. That’s because the heat transforms it into something truly special — with a warm, squidgy texture and slightly crisp edges, there’s nothing quite like it.

Is halloumi cheese healthy?

According to Healthline, halloumi cheese has many health benefits, as it’s low-fat, high-protein, and contains vitamins and minerals such as zinc, iron, potassium, and calcium. It’s also lactose-free which makes it great for those with dairy intolerances.

Storage

Store any leftover sweet chilli halloumi in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

To reheat, we recommend placing your halloumi in a pan over medium heat or in an air fryer until heated through. This will keep the texture of the cheese nice and crispy.
